A literal presentation of history from Morocco
This silver piece was originally manufactured by the Imuhag, meaning the free people – a semi-nomadic desert people from the Sahara. They are known for being master navigators of this stark landscape and the guardians of the trans-Saharan trade routes.
The silver, purchased when they came into contact with the Western world through-out the ancient trade routes they followed. Re-used and recycled from broken metal goods and other jewellery pieces no longer in use, sourced as they passed through markets. An amalgamation of stories woven into one.
