If I was a jewellery piece this is what I would look like - carrying the colours of my soul on the outside.
I have wanted to merge my work with my writings for quite some time. I wrote these words while traveling rural Northern Mocambique, time well spent wandering the shores of Lake Malawi.
This piece and text captures my sacred love affair with Africa so beautifully and how this continent has shaped me into who I am today.
“MIDDAY KISSES AND WHIMSICAL MYTHS OF MYSTICAL CREATURES THAT LIVE IN THE DEPTHS. FISH EAGLES IN A FIERY NIGHT SKY, HERE ROYALTY RESIDES. THE SMELL OF YOUR SKIN, THE FEEL OF YOUR SOUL, THE SOUND OF YOUR WHISPERS IN THE EARLY MORNING SUN. YOUR EYES ALIGHT WITH THINGS ANEW. YOUR HANDS, YOUR TOUCH BEYOND BEAUTIFUL. LET DOWN YOUR WALLS LET ME IN, THE GIFT I BRING IS FROM WITHIN. YOUR MOUTH HOLDS SECRETS OF STORIES UNTOLD, YOUR LIPS A STORY I WANT TO BEHOLD. THE SPIRIT OF THE WILD DANCES IN THE DARK, THE CALLS OF THE WILD ALIVE IN YOUR HEART. AUTHENTIC AND PURE, YOU BELONG TO HER ALONE - A MISTRESS CALLED AFRICA HAS MADE YOU HER HOME”
