Free your fears

I was up long before my alarm sounded. Tired body, tired soul, a worn down mental state of mind after a rough night of little sleep. A constant slumber of dreams and fears entwined.

Live wild, live free

Weekends are my time to reflect. To slow things down. To dream up future adventures. To blissfully feel safe, comforted by the material things that surround me and then head out for new explorations all across the Garden Route.

going beyond what is - PART THREE

The last day of the first week of teaching has come to soon. Sitting down to paint on the now fired beads was a welcome change to four days of manufacturing.

going beyond what is - PART TWO - day five

Day five of week one, was by far my favorite!

A day with all things new and a mountain of things to learn. Beads need firing, rope needs to be made, fired beads need cooling, rinsing, painting and stringing. A lot to get through in one day!

going beyond what is - PART TWO - day four

Day four of week one of teaching starts off with yet another mixture of clay, the last one for the week as tomorrow we’re firing beads and making rope.

I truly believe that everything that we do and everyone that we meet is put in our path for a purpose. There are no accidents; we’re all teachers - if we’re willing to pay attention to the lessons we learn, trust our positive instincts and not be afraid to take risks or wait for some miracle to come knocking at our door’ - Marla Gibbs

going beyond what is…

So much can happen in so little time and it makes one realize that to achieve a lot, little is needed. Time is something we always think we have a lot of. But we don’t, so let us use it wisely, sparingly, purposefully and beautifully.

going beyond what is…

With only 10 days to go, time is running out, research and preparations are coming to a close and the confines of my comfort zone is pressing into me…soon I will have to let go.

West Coast Wondering…

Living at least 7 hours from Cape Town and 12 from the Garden Route, I can understand why few take the time and make the effort to take a trip up North…far North. So when the parentals arrived at our house on the beach, just in time for sunset, we were grateful for some company and sharing our way of life.

Down the hill we go…

We arrived at Zevenwacht at around 9 this morning, parked the car and walked the track. In general a good few jumps, road gaps, drops and tight turns. Reaching the top of the track looking back, in the distance the moon was still vaguely visible over a crisp view of Table Mountain.

A good day to ride…
